“This country is desperately sick, and man is on the critical list. I really don’t know where we go from here.” Fannie Lou Hamer

“We are human beings and we can work together in this country.” Fannie Lou Hamer

I sincerely wish Mr. Espy would have won the Senate seat in Mississippi becoming the state’s first Black senator since Reconstruction. Alas, that didn’t happen, Confederate Cindy won. Nonetheless, Mr. Espy did not incite a violent mob to storm the Mississippi State Capitol to overthrow an election as “Individual 1” did on 1.6.21. Nor did Mr. Espy lie about election fraud and attempt to disenfranchise voters as “Individual 1” did. Instead, Mr. Espy accepted the election results, honored democracy, and conceded to Confederate Cindy, the same woman who said she would attend a public hanging in Mississippi.

“Is this America, the land of the free and the home of the brave, where we have to sleep with our telephones off the hooks, because our lives be threatened daily, because we want to live as decent human beings, in America?” Fannie Lou Hamer

So, we may as well greet each other and say, Namaste. Hate is heavy, be light.
