In Kenosha County, Wisconsin, an unarmed dad, Jacob Blake, was shot multiple times, in the back, at close range by police, while his children ages 8 years old, 5 years old and 3 years old, watched.
Police paralyzed 29 year old Jacob. The police who shot him in the back multiple times, walked back to their lives. Even with a seismic push for racial justice across the nation, some police still feel justified in brutalizing Black people, whether or not a camera is documenting their deeds. Police choose dehumanization, over deescalation, when it comes to Black people.
We cannot slow down, nor become overwhelmed by the enormity of events. 57% of Republicans think 176,000 people dying from COVID-19 is acceptable, WTF. How many Black people killed by police is acceptable?
It doesn’t have to be this way.
