With gratitude, and immeasurable appreciation, we honor Mary McLeod Bethune. She literally opened the doors to education for Black girls and women. Known as,¬†“The First Lady of the Struggle,” Mary McLeod Bethune dedicated her time on Earth in service, striving for equality, and freedom, not only for¬†Black women, but all people. She was faithful in working throughout her life, to achieve economic, and political empowerment, through activism and education.
