“I believe in white supremacy until the blacks are educated to a point of responsibility.” John Wayne

John Wayne also said, “Courage is being scared to death, but saddling up anyway.” Lamentably, where was the courage to reject racism? This is not patriotism, it’s open prejudice, wearing a bandanna and chaps. There is no need to look too far into the past to reveal racism, to uncover bigotry, sexism, homophobia, or xenophobia. Present day provides a clear view of rampant racism, bigotry, sexism, homophobia, and xenophobia. White people are still in the driver’s seat of America’s democracy. The key question is, will the white people in power, drive American democracy into the ground, will they drive America over a cliff of corruption? Fasten your seat belts, and hope the air bags of justice will work, because these white people in power, will not voluntarily put the brakes on bribery.

Yet, as some Americans succumb to the brainwashing of bigotry, while others tighten their grip on roots of racism, the nation has found itself once again at a critical point, where neutrality is not an option. One must choose, it boils down to this, as its been phrased before, are you on the side of Jane Fonda or John Wayne? Neither are perfect, neither pure, simply put, in this era of central casting, Jane and John, still represent salient choices of conscience. Choose decisively, sans apathy, be mindful, we are all connected. Will you be an American as a willing passenger en route in the catastrophic crash of democracy into corruption? Or, will you be an American who chooses conscience over corruption, and choose The Republic over a single Republican?
