Your race may negatively impact how your healthcare needs are viewed and what treatment you receive.

The American Public Health Association (APHA) has a mission to “Improve the health of the public and achieve equity in health status.”

Your race will affect the healthcare you receive, not as a result of DNA, rather a result of your access to healthcare and your socioeconomic level.

Racial disparities have clear implications with regard to healthcare. Everyone’s well-being is of value. Elected officials should not be entitled to healthcare access denied to the public. The primary pre-existing condition we all share is the human condition.
