The Trump campaign and their Republican followers are running on racism with Donald Trump’s son, surrogate, and name sake, Donald Trump Jr., amplifying a racist query on the “blackness” of Kamala Harris. This is not the first time (nor the last) Trump and his Republican enablers nurtured the seeds of racism for personal and political gain. The Russian and Republican (R&R) political playbook, relied on racist propaganda, suppression of Black voters, and fear of immigrants to install Trump. The R&R playbook is still in action, birtherism, which Donald Trump openly and actively advanced, is back in full effect, this time, aimed squarely at Kamala Harris. Russian bots are targeting Harris’s campaign with racist messaging, while Trump surrogates give the racism shine. Harris will need to have her long form birth certificate, grades, and college transcripts at the ready. Trump needed racism and Russia to nab the White House, and once again, Trump is attempting to maintain his grip on the Oval with racism and Russia. Republicans, Russia, and racism have merged to form a diabolical trifecta, infiltrating America’s elections. Call in United Nations election monitors for the 2020 election, Americans cannot rely on the current President, or Republicans, to protect the nation’s election. Turns out, hugging the flag was a Trump tactic to smother democracy.
