Donald Trump appointed justices to the Supreme Court have ensured women are not equal in America. Republican justices have grabbed women by the pussy in taking away a woman’s constitutional right to make a safe private healthcare decision. Five men, two of which were credibly accused of sexual harassment and sexual assault; and one woman, who is willfully empowering dominance of the patriarchy, have decided that they control women’s bodies – not women.
Republicans want power and will take it, no matter the consequences.
We saw a Republican President refuse to give up the power of the presidency by violent insurrection. We saw a Republican Party enforce their religious beliefs on Americans by taking away the constitutional right to abortion. We saw a Republican led Supreme Court gut voting rights. We are seeing a Republican controlled Supreme Court force its “beliefs” on the American people.
Republicans are exercising power over the American people whom they are grotesquely out of touch with. The Republican led Supreme Court has made it painfully obvious that they cannot be trusted as arbiters of justice. Privacy for all Americans is in jeopardy – Republicans want to control not only what goes on in the womb, but in the bedroom as well.
Republican led courts will take away more freedoms – they will take away more constitutional rights.
Contraception is next.
Marriage equality is next.
Civil rights are next.
The Republican led Supreme Court is taking away the right to privacy. The Republican Party has proven they cannot be trusted.
In future cases, we should reconsider all of this Court’s substantive due process precedents, including Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell. Because any substantive due process decision is “demonstrably erroneous,” we have a duty to “correct the error” established in those precedents.
