On this Fourth of July, fireworks will not only paint the night sky, fireworks will paint an America without equality for women, an America without equal access to the ballot box, an America with a Republican led Supremacist Supreme Court taking away constitutional rights, enforcing its religious beliefs on the nation, with dictatorial plans to silence the voice of The People in future elections.
It’s a somber celebration this Fourth of July, as women are reduced to being second class citizens and the facts of science ignored for the scripture of Christianity. Let’s hope the fireworks will awaken all Americans, especially Democrats in the Executive Branch to take action, that the colorful combustion lighting up the sky, may also enlighten minds toward executive action.
How do we collectively celebrate the independence of a nation, while it is actively taking away independence from its citizens? The United States Constitution is a living breathing document, capable of evolving with the advancement of time and technology. Unfortunately, it cannot breathe, due to the knee of Republican tyranny, choking and restricting its fundamental American capabilities.
