Black people seem to always have a gun aimed at our heads

Whether from the police, or from the pandemic, there seems to always be a gun aimed at Black people, to take our life, or our temperature. Whether for a nefarious or necessary purpose, there’s a gun aimed at us. Police brutality disproportionately impacts Black people leading to death, as does the brutality of the pandemic. In both cases, systematic racism is at the root, causing our decay. Black people are essentially unprotected from the police and from the pandemic. Limited access to health care, and being treated as experimental are deadly consequences of racism. Results of America’s original sin is presenting itself as an exposed raw nerve during this pandemic. Black people continue to bear the nation’s pain. Although we are essential to America, we are largely unprotected by America, yet Black people still protect America, each and every day.
