The Washington Post dims its light.
Billionaire Jeff Bezos bows to the demands of Donald Trump by forcing one of the many purchases in his portfolio, in this case the Washington Post, to stop endorsing candidates for President.
Hmmm…
The Washington Post editorial board was set to publish an endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris…that is until Bezos and the white bro he is eager to appease said, no. Bezos is instead pushing the endorsement of his fiancé, Lauren Sanchez’s, new children’s book, about a fly going to the moon.
Word on the street is, Sanchez is friends with Donald’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, who encouraged the decision through her friendship with Sanchez. Does that sound laughably crazy? It sure does…just like it’s laughably crazy that Jeff Bezos ultimately controls what the Washington Post prints, or rather, doesn’t. Perhaps we will never know the (Blue) origin of this Bezos decision. Ironically, the fly in the children’s book is the same fly that landed on Mike Pence’s head during his debate with Kamala Harris. The fly has yet to comment.
Will Lewis, Washington Post CEO announced in an odd and cowardly message, that the newspaper will no longer honor editorial freedom…it will instead honor its owner’s need to please Donald Trump. Lewis has brought scandal and unscrupulous actions with him to the Washington Post.
One has to wonder what Katharine Graham would have said about this obvious act of abdication.
What Jamal Khashoggi would have said about the current cowardice of the Washington Post.
One has to wonder if Kamala Harris were not a Black woman, if the decision would have been the same. Remember, the Washington Post did endorse Hillary Clinton when she ran against Donald. So, what’s different this time? Could it be that, Donald is scarier therefore, Bezos bows quicker? Yes indeed, “democracy dies in the dark,” as seen by the ominous shadows plaguing the place where Pulitzer’s once grew.
We regular people depend on journalists for truth, objectivity, and facts. The Washington Post previously had integrity…that is now debased. The Washington Post has become yet another thing Donald Trump touched, through his privileged tentacles of poltroon, that is tainted with tyranny.
