Black Entertainment Television (BET) honored Black culture, with the 2020 BET Awards, hosted by comedian, Amanda Seales, who skillfully piloted a consequential journey, through the history of BET, with laughter, truth, and reflection. Icons were celebrated, the demand for equity elevated, and the advancement of Black excellence emblazoned, through music, dance, poetry, and progress, at this year’s virtual awards ceremony. Founded in 1980 by, Robert Johnson, BET is a pivotal platform, still uplifting Black artists, providing Black people, the space to be seen, heard, and valued.
