Remember way back, before Trump was the GOP standard bearer, Trump stated, President Barack Obama, would just make up a reason to go to war to get elected? The staggering lack of credibility in the Trump Administration is reckless. At a critical time when President Trump is being impeached, a letter, from the Pentagon, regarding US troop withdrawal was sent to Iraq, apparently the text of Arabic to English, didn’t match up, so the letter was sent back to the US. Then, Trump sent the letter a second time. Guess it was, a “lost in translation” kind of thing. According to reporting, the letter, from the Pentagon, stating US troops would be withdrawn from Iraq, was disseminated to the Iraqi government, journalists, Tweeted, and took the coveted number one spot on Facebook, the only real matrix to measure credibility. News of this cluster f*ck went viral, at which point, Trump’s royal court, described the letter as a mistake. Oops. This is not like hitting send on an email, meant as a draft in need of correction, or an ex-lover accidentally receiving your cathartic letter meant as an emotional release, not public release. This is the Trump Administration at the helm, “leading” international action and communication, sending a letter from the Pentagon, with the risk severe consequences, like war.
Trump installed people in his royal court whom are primarily white, literally the current Cabinet is comprised mostly of wealthy white people, led by an orange guy with a golden coif, who has been divorced three times, twice from women, then from facts. Of course, we all need to look past bronzer, and bravado. It should not matter if you purchased your tan, or were born with it, however we all know, it does, there is a massive difference in “melanin” from the mall, and melanin from the motherland. There’s no way this “Caucasian Caused Cluster F*ck” would be enabled, endorsed, defended, or allowed to continue, if the President were a Black person, or a Black person with a vagina (gasp). More importantly, the lives of people deployed and impacted, are people of all hues, people of all backgrounds, people of all beliefs. There is zero room for personal political distraction, and deception from the Ego in Chief. This is why the character of the US President matters, this is why integrity matters, this is why facts matter, this is why temperament matters, this is why experience matters, this is why honoring the Oath to uphold and defend the United States of America, not a real estate “mogul” matters. Trump’s moods of madness, and pathology of paranoia for his personal political path, is not worth going to war over. Save conceit for episodic TV. Constitution and courage are required now. We need honest leaders who honor democracy and de-escalation. This is not about central casting, or presidential puffery. The President, and his flock, have forgotten, we are all connected on this Pale Blue Dot, whether your pigment resembles that of porcelain or pecan.
