McCarthyism ain’t got nothing on Trumpism

Donald Trump learned from Joseph McCarthy’s chief counsel, Roy Cohn how to go after anybody and everybody with absolute impunity. How to destroy institutions, reputations, and careers. Not with facts, but with fear. To demand complete loyalty, no matter the terms. As Cohn said and taught to Donald, “I believe in loyalty above all else.”

McCarthyism pitted people against one another across the nation, as a group of power hungry, manipulative, white men, sought to expose communists in our midst under the guise of American patriotism. Trumpism is going after anyone Donald doesn’t like, and yes, it too operates under the guise of patriotism. This time, it’s not about communism, it’s about Donald’s king complex. And unfortunately, America does not have an Edward R. Murrow, to take on Donald and his obedient branches of government.

Listening to some journalists, pundits, and podcasters – one wonders if everyone has fucking forgotten about what Donald did during his first term as President, what he did during his campaigns to be President, and what he has done throughout his entire life.

When hearing statements like, “We will have to see what he does,” or, “We don’t know what he will do,” or “There’s no way he can just get rid of all those departments in government, it would cause chaos,” is cause to think people are concuss due to high impact hits from their own hubris.

Are you fucking kidding me? Donald loves chaos as much as he loves ketchup. We know what he will do, there’s a 900 page book detailing what he will do. Not to mention years of video of him actually saying what he will do. You cannot default back to ‘belief in institutions’ belief is just that, a belief…one can believe in anything.

Don’t give Donald the benefit of the doubt. There is no doubt he will go after his, “enemies from within,” those who spoke against him, those who prosecuted him, those with ‘Harris Walz’ signs in their yards, those who posted things about him he didn’t like, and those who didn’t give him an Emmy.

The man holds onto grudges like he holds on to the pussy he grabs. Donald will get that Emmy he always wanted, a Nobel Peace Prize, a military parade when he’s inaugurated, monuments named in his honor, and he will get revenge. If you think he won’t, you have not been paying attention. Praise and power is what Donald sought and that’s exactly what he’s getting.

“Fear is a powerful motivator, and I know how to use it to my advantage.” Roy Cohn
