Kamala Harris spoke for Black women asking, “Where you been, and what are you going to do?”

Black women have been on the front lines in the battle for equality, yet ignored, and largely taken for granted when it comes to issues that directly impact our lives and families. Black women are intelligent, generous, and resourceful. Our collective strength and beauty, demonstrated throughout history, cannot be reduced to caricature, as it is our attributes and achievements that serve all of America. Dare I say, you will not find a more patriotic person than the Black woman, for it is Black women who defend America, regardless of the sacrifice, as though America was born as her very own. Black women were stolen, and are continually stolen from, yet show up, and stand up, time and time again.

Black women become conveniently invisible, by the very people who depend upon us. Kamala Harris highlighted this last night on the Democratic debate stage. Serving authentic HBIC, from an HBCU.
