Reverend Jesse Jackson was not only a fierce human rights leader, he had an important element humans absolutely need…humor.

There have been strides toward diversity in front and behind the camera. Yet, the struggle continues. The current cast of Saturday Night Live, lacks a Black woman, despite there being incredibly talented Black women whom are qualified, capable and, funny. As Jesse Jackson said, we must, “Keep hope alive.”

Today is Jesse Jackson’s Homegoing. His physical presence will be missed. However, Jesse Jackson’s powerful foundation of equality, inclusion, and love will always be here.
