Cecile Richards

Cecile Richards, bright light, defender of women’s rights, and former President of Planned Parenthood, left this world after 67 trips around the sun. During Cecile’s time on the planet she fought for women’s equality and our bodily autonomy.

Raised in Texas, her mother Ann Richards, ensured that Cecile was brought up to understand the value of civil rights and to know that women’s rights are human rights.

Cecile talked to her 18-year-old self in this video. We can’t ignore the fact that girls today are growing up with fewer rights. Our fight for equality continues.

My mother said often, “Life isn’t fair, but government should be.”
