BET Awards Honors The Culture like only BET can

The 2022 BET Awards hosted by Taraji P. Henson was a night of inclusion, celebration and inspiration. Sean Combs was honored with BET’s Lifetime Achievement Award, presented to him by Babyface and Ye, who was dressed in covid couture, which included a mask, protective eye wear, and gloves. Although his respect and love for Diddy were in the air, his respiratory droplets were not.

“Can’t stop won’t stop,” was the message on the continued fight for equal rights, with artists expressing collective disgust for the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade, giving the middle finger and giving meaningful speeches. And speaking of giving…artists gave incredible performances and millions of dollars in support of equal rights.

Lizzo and Live Nation pledged $1 million to abortion rights groups and she kicked the night off with an amazing performance of, About Damn Time. And the creativity never let up, the program also treated viewers to the vocal acrobatics of Mariah Carey. Love. Watch it if you missed it.
