Journalism not jokes

Ron Chernow will be the featured speaker at the White House Correspondents’ dinner this spring, placing focus on presidential history. No more humor, it’s journalism not jokes. It’s pundits over punch lines for the White House Correspondents’ Association. The current President of the Unites States will opt out of the event again this year. As stated by Michelle Wolf, host of the previous White House Correspondents’ dinner, “of course Trump isn’t here if you haven’t noticed…I know, I know, I would drag him here myself, but it turns out the President of the United States is the one pussy you’re not allowed to grab.” Apparently the intelligent combination of facts, current events and politics with comedic delivery is too much for both the President and The White House Correspondents’ Association. Yet another American institution yields to the tyrannical influence of Trump. It is plausible that Trump detains or jails people in attendance with the impudence to laugh at jokes that are actually funny, sparking the move to alleviate levity. This President loves his version of law and order. Hope is not lost, perhaps Chernow will deliver the sobering facts of this President, as Trump’s lies are no laughing matter.
