Caravan of Love

Rise above avarice and the iniquitous schemes of schizophrenia run amuck, in one party Republican rule, with an appreciation for Caravan of Love written by Chris Jasper, Ernie Isley, and Marvin Isley of the Isley Brothers. I was raised on this music. After any given day of living, striving, breathing as a Black woman on this Pale Blue Dot, I have reached for an Isley Brothers album many times, letting the lyrics flow – to help heal and deal with the symptoms caused by systematic racism – love is the inoculation and the cure. As one party reigns without accountability – headed by a tainted, corrupt, unstable soul – we are witness to what is termed schizophrenia, “a long-term mental disorder of a type involving a breakdown in the relation between, thought, emotion, and behavior, leading to faulty perception, inappropriate actions and feelings, withdrawal from reality and personal relationships into fantasy and delusion, and a sense of mental fragmentation.” Democracy not practiced is at risk, right now we are seeing democracy being devoured. Voting is about humanity. Affordable accessible healthcare is humanity. Safe police practices is humanity. The voting rights of Black people, Native Americans, and Latinos are being stampeded – protecting peoples right to vote is humanity. Rise above the noise with actual music.
